Slightly confused: Leveraged Finance Coverage?

Hi all,

There's a lot of info on WSO regarding Lev Fin. I've been through it all but was wondering if someone can help me understand the following. Apologies in advance if I'm missing something obvious/being an idiot.

Is it typical for a Lev Fin team to sit under the Coverage department?

It was my understanding that you have product groups (lev fin being one of them) and coverage groups (either by industry, or sometimes geographic).

So what would Lev Fin coverage mean? I know that there's a separate (small) team doing financial sponsors coverage, and they work closely with this LF team; so would the lev fin team be doing execution, but still be called "coverage"? (The job description for an analyst role on this team states both preparation of pitch materials and origination type tasks etc. as well as credit analysis & LBO modeling)

Your responses are much appreciated!
