Sophomore Internship and Future Prospects

Hi, I'm currently a sophomore at a target school and I recently accepted an IB internship for next summer with one of the low tier bb's (think UBS, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank). I'm really grateful that I got the internship, but I want to try and move to a "better" bb (e.g. Goldman or MS) for junior summer. I'm starting to apply for insight programs etc. for this spring, but I posted on my Linked In that I already have an internship with an IB bank, and I'm afraid that other prospective employers from the other banks won't be willing to interview me, as they'd think I'm just shopping banks.

Did I make a mistake by posting my internship on LinkedIn, and would my sophomore internship at a bb hurt my chances to get a junior internship at another bb (i.e. will the banks think I'm just shopping around?).

Also, any advice for me in my current situation?

Thanks in advance!

No it's going to help you. Banks love taking other bank's interns, and the fact that you got a sophomore offer even at a lower tier bank mean's that you're a student with potential.

Just don't make it obvious that you're trying to leverage your offer before even interning there -- connect with alumni and people that don't have ties to the bank you'll be at. When you reach out just be cool, someone just trying to learn more about the industry and getting advice for the summer.

Hope that helps!
