Sophomore PE Internship Info
Does anyone know details about the firm Veronis Suhler Stevenson ? What is their reputation? How would a internship from a middle market PE firm like VSS set me up for IB recruiting in the fall? How does this internship compare to a boutique IB internship?
bump any info/perspective would be helpful
No clue about the firm specifically. That being said, a MM PE is on par with a boutique IB internship during your sophomore year. I had a MM PE internship this past summer doing BS work and spun it to land a SA position at a top EB this summer. Learn as much as you can and you should be golden for fall recruiting.
How did you spin doing PE your sophomore year into interest for IB?
There's a lot of ways that can be spun. To my mind, there's a couple key differences. First that IB is a more sales focused job, has an advisory angle that PE simply doesn't, and (more often than not) will expose you to more types of deals than PE work will.
