Spring/Summer Sophomore Internships

I have a quick question about internship opportunities for sophomores. I am currently a freshman, but I wanted to plan ahead as to who I should network with.

I am going to UBS PWM in NYC this summer. I'm from a non-underreprestented group and I'm from a non-target school. I have a 4.0, I'm a triple major, involved in a lot of clubs, and have a couple of board positions.

I know that GS has a spring break internship program and MS has a rotational program. What other BB have spring break or summer break programs for non-underpresented sophomores?

I assume non-underrepresnted means white or East Asian.

Here's the news - unless you are black/hispanic/native/gay, you have no chance. A couple guys from my school applied for that this year and got rejected. Some of them have had prior internship experience. I go to a target, by the way.

Why the fuck is gay in there? Can I just pretend that I am gay and get an advantage? There's no way to tell.

All major banks have programs directed towards the LGBT crowd. (e.g. JP Morgan's "Proud to Be" program)

As for whether they can tell - I've wondered about that too.

I imagine they probably look for involvement in activities that are LGBT-related as proof? Interesting point, though

UBS has a sophomore rotational program that isn't explicitly for URM's. I think it's called the president's internship program. Not sure if it rotates through IBD or S&T though, may mostly be Ops and such.

dont listen to that bs post, u have very decent chances to get in

this comes from a preson from non targeted uni, not best gpa or impressive past xp all you need is to sell yourself well.. formulate it nice and make yourself unique and interesting if i was able to choose between several offers, you can too

all you need is to land an interview.. so prepare to do anything to get to that stage; after that, they want you, just be yourself and do your homework

and dont rush with applications, you will get smarter as you acquire more information... do it when you are ready

check this thread: http://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1577800

p.s. all bb's have spring break program i think

Why is there some kind of rumor on here that you have to be a minority to get into these sophomore rotational programs? I know people who did sophomore S&T or IBD internships at GS and BAML and they were all white or asian. Some of them were from non-targets too. These programs are extremely competitive though.

So the best candidate doesn't get the internship? If the minorities made it to college, there should be no diversification. IMHO that shit needs to be abolished.

OP: 299 Park Ave?
