Start Early or Start Late for internship (chance for fulltime offer)

I am going to be doing an SA gig at a BB in Asia for S&T this summer. It has a very late start date compared to other SA programs. HR sent all interns an email basically telling us that they have flexibility and could allow us to start a week, 2 weeks or 3 weeks early if we have conflicts/we want to. I know a few kids in the class are taking this opportunity and starting early and some kids aren't.

Does starting early/late make a difference in getting a FT offer? (maybe limited amount of spots given out and early starter gets some leeway or maybe everyone gets evaluated at the same time so the late starter would still be in the mind of the evaluator or any other obscure reasons?)

For me, if I start at the regular start date, I could take a couple spring classes and boost my gpa (from 3.6x after this semester to 3.70+), while getting some requirement out of the way and maybe graduate a semester earlier. However, I dont really care too much about being able to take spring classes so it's a not a huge factor, which means if starting early could give me an advantage, I would definitely forget about spring classes and start early. What do you guys think?

I would go early, allows you more time to adjust to the learning curve and start building relationships with people on your desks (I'm still in college so I don't know how valid my opinion is) but if I was you, I'd be there as early as I could.
