stupid move now i have background check - pls help

I was doing an in semester internship that I stopped about a month back due to schedule conflicts. They have a policy of not being able to write it on your resume until you complete the whole thing (6 months) and I only did 2 months so technically i shouldnt have it on my resume but I thought Id complete it so I did. I updated my resume right away after the change, but I am currently in the summer analyst process for several firms who have the old version of my resume. I am worried for background checks, should I reach out asap? if so what should i say? Know this is very stupid on my end but would appreciate any advice.

As long as everything on your resume is truthful and you can talk through it, you'll be fine. Banks don't really have the capacity for comprehensive background checks (esp for SA roles). For example, in the UK the only post-hire check is a DBS check (criminal background check), I've never even been asked for evidence of my uni degree. I wouldn't worry about this if I were you.

This particular firm has a policy that you cant put it on your resume until you complete the 6 months, and theyre very stringent about it - I’m worried that they will deny that I was an intern / say I violated policy during the background checks. Again, stupid on my part but I really want to solve the problem. wondering if I should reach out to the firms and tell them about the situation
