Summer Alternatives (desperate)

I've applied to a couple of places for summer internships, but none have gotten back to me and I'm starting to dread the possibility of me not having anything to do over the summer. I'm a rising junior; do you guys have any advice on what I should do? Are there any key sites or sources I should look towards for last minute internships? I would like to get something to add to my resume, but more impotrantly I want to stay productive. Thanks guys

Relax until SA recruitment next winter. Play some golf, backpack across Europe, booze it up with HS buddies, fuck some hoes (nappy headed ones if you're into that) -just relax.

Wait a second...are you really qualified to comment on this?

Anyway, you need to look at the absolute bottom of the barrel investment banking shops. That is the first thing you should do. If they reject you, the only other decent idea I could think of is working for a retail brokerage/"financial advisor," but even that is pretty lame. At that point, you might as well do something more interesting. See if you can find a way to teach English in Kazakhstan.

Unless your resume is really that bad, I'm sure there will be some investment banks that are still looking (at this point boutique of course). If you are really motivated and contact as many places as possible, I'm sure you'll be fine. Aspiringmonkey has a thread that has a bunch of names...you might want to check those.

If you can't even get a last minute internship anywhere, you definately don't want to have an empty summer on your resume where you did nothing. There are alternatives- take summer classes, study abroad..keep it productive.

Might be too late, but it is worth looking into taking a few classes at LSE, or some other school in Europe that would be recognized here. Or you could always go take language classes through your university somewhere abroad.

Studying abroad over the summer and learning a language would be fun, and something to talk about. Brazilian bitches are very hot.

At very minimum, teach yourself a (practical) language if you really aren't doing anything else.

Mr. White, do you know where aspiringmonkeyisanidiot went? He hasn't replied in that thread for over 2 weeks.

Also, how does a job at a bank (not ibank) look?

Also, what do you tell boutiques when looking for an internship?

if youre a "rising junior" (that is, youre going to be one next year) then its not a problem at all

i spent my sophomore summer chillaxing in europe. plenty of my friends didn't do shit either.

Can we please stop calling women bitches and hoes. It's ridiculous and it shows the great amount of arrogance and ignorance of the people who post these boards.
