Thoughts on Citi Capital Markets

I would love to hear any insights about this division at Citi, across ECM, DCM, LevFin..... Any information would be appreciated (Deal flow, exposure, learning opportunities, culture, hours, rank comparing to other product teams on the street, return rate for interns in recent years).

A brief background: Currently a sophomore who just got their 2026 SA offer. Considering if I should take it over an ok mm IBD generalist offer that don't really gets a lot of deal flow. I know usually coverage banking is better, but considering the brand difference and I don't have a strong desire to go to PE (and I don't think this mm firm have great exit as well), I am leaning towards Citi. Wanted to get some advice from WSO, thanks.

been told that DCM is a top team and great culture, and I’ve also heard of people lateraling into coverage roles from there—anecdotally, I spoke to an ECM guy who’s now in tech
