To major in Finance/successfully recruit for IB, he would have to transfer to Stern, which I've heard is extremely hard. Still doable if he can get a 3.8/3.9+ GPA and some solid experience/ECs.
Tell him to try transferring to Umich Ross, it’s a fixed 3 year program but if he’s smart he will get in. By smart, figure out what the readers want to see and the type of app -> tailor. Worked for me spending TONS of hours but it was life changing. GL.
