Transition Questions for Consulting to IB

Hello all, wasn't sure if this was the right thread to post this in, but I figured Id give it a shot.

I am currently working at a big 4 consulting company hoping to do either strategy or M/A work in the next two years or so. With that in mind, I plan to eventually transition to IB long term after getting an MBA. In doing this I have a couple of questions.

Is it worth attempting to move to MBB before the MBA and transition to IB simply for brand recognition to smooth over this process?

Is it better to try and transition to IB before or after the MBA?

If I were to transition to IB from one of these consulting companies where they pay for your MBA, do any IB shops pay for any of the MBA their associates are coming from, since I would no longer get the MBA payed off from my original company?

If this isnt the right place to post, I hope some of you can point me in the right direction.
