This IU saga has to be some of the most entertaining shit that has happened to this forum in years

This is not gonna be good for IU Kelley's reputation. They already were on thin ice as an average state school with decent placement, but with this scandal it's not good. I feel bad for non diverse kids in IBW breaking their back to get an offer but are being hindered becuz of the schools's diversity lying.

Funniest

Hopefully this reminds everyone about how fucking retarded state school kids are, and that no one actually thinks/cares much about them even though they have a chip on their shoulder for not getting into a good school

Lame ass drama from a lame ass school smh.

Agreed. However, I would guess that their program is funded by the university and is contingent upon a certain proportion of kids getting placements. The director is incentivized to keep strong relationships with firms, and so they’ll push good candidates for “safety” opportunities to keep placement high. I doubt the deans or higher up admin know or care about what makes CVP a better offer than WF. They just want to have kids get placed into jobs to bolster the job placement statistics.

Why should the collective WSO have to read about some state school’s drama. Save this for your school’s group chat / slack

Have no dog in this fight, but they have 5+ clearly white males in SEO Edge (Black/hispanic/native american only, so not like they're all LGBT) and other diversity-only programs. I looked them up when names were getting posted and it was egregious. Not sure about the director but there is clearly a great deal of lying about race at that school. It's lauded on here as a real path to IB so people should know if this is actually happening.

As a VP and an active member of recruiting, none of this feels accurate. I have actively interacted with the IU Director repeatedly and he is an upstanding, honest and caring individual.

I went to IU this year for interviews and was amazed by the quality of the candidate I encountered.

To hear anything otherwise is surprising. I am inclined to disbelieve it.

This is the case at every single one of these programs. The directors have to choose between their best interests (maintaining corporate relationships) or the students best interests (getting them the best offers). They ALWAYS choose their best interests. This is why unbiased mentorship from someone who wants what’s best for you is indispensable. Having someone to tell it to you straight is hugely important, and career services will not tell it to you straight. Find. A. Mentor.
