UBS hires Taylor Henricks as head of M&A in Americas from Morgan Stanley

Is this good news for UBS? M&A hire from MS. Also list of all new UBS hires since March shows that the bank is still clearly interested in America's growth. Is WSO wrong on UBS? The bank seems like it's at least trying and new hires are at least experienced people, even if some are ex-Barclays

You kind of sound like an insecure narcissist. No one cares what you posted months ago and whether you were correct. Go touch grass

If so seems like a really big step up for him, obviously a quality hire but unsure about if he can fill the shoes esp w/ UBS' weird M&A/sponsors merger

I would assume he was hired to be be LBs replacement in 2026

Great hire as MD hiring headcount becomes available, and a definite net upgrade

Exactly. It's crazy how this forum shits on UBS Tech for having no deal flow and for Barclays nepotism but also shits on UBS for trying to fix that by hiring seniors that aren't affiliated with Barclays. I think the UBS tech posters are mostly people who got fired by the firm; no other reason I can think of for their responses. It can be both true that UBS Tech has no deal flow currently and that this hire and the earlier 2 Tech MD hires are good hires in terms of trying to rebuild the UBS Tech team.

Edit: just saw that below, one of the guys got caught for using various alternate accounts by posting, deleting, and reposting. These people have psychosis and are incompetent; no wonder they got laid off.

I don't even think he's the worst of the lot. At least he seemingly makes helpful comments on non-UBS stuff. Some other ex-UBS people only ever post on the UBS-related threads to spread negativity. Every UBS post has like 4-5 same An and Associates commenting as well just shitting on the bank. I do think the SVP in Corp Dev is their leader since it seems like they just follow everything he says. This thread is egregious in particular, though. Their whole thing for the past year of posts is that UBS should clean house and bring in non-Barclays MDs. When UBS does that they continue shiting on UBS, makes it pretty blatantly obvious it's just pure anger not genuine criticism.

I do think he’s a senior based on the nature of his comments, and to be fair, many of his posts on non-UBS threads seem genuinely helpful. That said, his take on UBS is extremely biased; a lot of his posts' history feels like it’s just dedicated to bashing the firm. At this point, I think most users recognize how skewed his perspective is when it comes to UBS, so the impact is probably muted.

Still, it creates a confusing dynamic for incoming analysts or interns trying to get a balanced view. Since he sounds credible in other contexts, it’s hard to know what to take seriously when he talks about UBS. Just something to be aware of if you're trying to sift through the noise.

Doubt it, I think most potential MDs staying away since they don’t want to ruin there careers

I get that you are angry and cannot find a new job, but seriously, give it a rest. Nobody believes you at this point, and hating on your old employer this much is not good for your mental health. At this rate, if UBS cured cancer, you'd complain about that. Time to log off WSO and look for a job, that severance is going to run out eventually.
