UBS IB - Analyst - Funds Advisory

Hi Guys,

I have an interview with UBS coming up the position is: Analyst - Funds Advisory and Shareholder Services.

I was wondering if you guys had any idea as to what I could expect? I feel like the job description was very broad. Any ideas on what quantitative questions might be asked? For context I am finance major, and have had more equity research experience prior.

Your role

Do you enjoy gathering data, creating databases, data mining, statistical analysis and compiling presentations? Do you enjoy having a significant level of interaction with clients regarding strategic and marketing initiatives? We're looking for someone like that who can:

– Prepare quarterly presentations for distribution to the Board of Directors and fund management of each fund complex.
– Utilize a variety of sources to compile data for detailed statistical analysis and act as point person for client data requests.
– Develop and maintain customized databases
– Prepare presentations for fund Boards and management on various strategic initiatives including share repurchases, tenders, mergers, repositioning, recapitalizations, dividend policies and dissident shareholder proxy defences

Your team

You’ll be working in the Funds Advisory and Shareholder Services Group of the Asset Management Banking Team of the Financial Institutions Group. We currently provide servicing for 27 listed closed-end funds with approximately $15 billion in assets. We also provide comprehensive advisory services to fund Boards and managers with the goal of enhancing the profile, visibility and trading characteristics of closed-end funds. These goals are achieved through in-depth statistical analysis, ongoing communication with the funds’ Boards and management, and a broad network of market participants.

Your experience and skills
You have:
– An undergraduate degree with a major in Accounting, Economics or Finance
– No more than 2 years of work experience in the relevant industry
