UBS IB or Consulting offer?

Hi all. I currently have an offer from UBS IB, and also an offer from McKinsey (generalist BA). I hear a lot of things negatively about UBS on here, but it is Investment Banking. Which offer will set me up best for down the road?

UBS is a dying shop - Even before their shift to cut their IB decision, most analysts exited to LMM PE. Go McKinsey and don't look back. If you want to do banking would opt for another shop (I'd even take Nomura over UBS....)

how is it dying with them placing a great emphasis on their investment bank with their recent strategy shift. I think it's a good place to be since it's expanding, particularly in the US. With the acquisition of CS, they can only improve their footprint.

no one in their right mind is taking nomura over UBS

and no I don't work at UBS

If you want to do investment banking then go to UBS, if you want to be the one who tells UBS to fire all its investment bankers, go to McKinsey.

second this, but this is pretty obvious tbh I don't get why op asked in the first place

Going to UBS over McKinsey is career suicide. If you want to be a banker go to literally any other "low-tier" BB

McKinsey every day of the week. Do you want to be at a top firm or a bottom BB that's been reaching deeper depths every year? Better exit opps, better business school, more respect, more options
