UBS/CS (Tech / Industrials) vs. MS/GS (Firm Strategy) for FT

Hey so just looking at some potential FT opportunities, would love to see how people compare the two groups. In both cases, I may consider lateraling in a year, but how transferable are the skills I would develop in each. Of course UBS/CS is actually IBD, but I imagine it would be easier to lateral into MS/GS IBD from another division in the same company.

And no I don't have definite offers, but want to understand my playing field. Most important thing is to get the offers first, of course. Hopefully, the decision is made for me.

would even argue that an MM IB would be a better starting point than firm strategy at GS/MS if you are interested in IB/PE and all that. that said, if you don't even get this, I doubt you can really get the offer, especially given the situation this year.

“They all end up at very solid PE shops” - thats just blatantly untrue. Even just a quick LinkedIn search would show by “all” you really just meant one or two lol
