Undergrad to Analyst: PE or IB

Prospect recruiting for both PE and IB. Have internship experience in PE and think it’s a really great industry to work in. Wanting to eventually work in the sector but many PE employees I’ve spoken with say it’s very beneficial to work in banking before PE to understand the sell-side process.

For that reason, I’m recruiting for IB as well and have an interview at an MM firm lined up. Hoping to get more in the next coming weeks.

That being said, I’ve also been networking hard and applying to PE firms. I am thinking about PE because I’m more familiar with the due diligence, search, valuation and acquisition process from a prior internship.

Recommendations if I should go into PE or IB if I had the choice? are there cons to entering PE right out of undergrad?
