Upwards reviews

What is your approach for upwards review? Do you only give reviews to those you like? Do you write bad ones for those who deserve it? I personally do both, I write more nice ones than bad but every year there has been 2-3 associates / VPs (mostly VPs) and an MD this year who I can’t believe have made it this far. Are complete assholes and I never want to work with them again. So made sure in their review I wrote exactly why. Will there be consequences? Probably but they deserve it.

For those who do good work and are a pleasure to work with, I write exactly that and why. And I hope they get good things coming to them
