Wells Fargo TMT SF Superday

Have a superday for wells fargo this week.

Anybody have some insight into what I can expect out of this?

Wells Fargo SF is definitely my first choice of landing spot so very nervous about it.

The email says its three 30-minute behavioral & technical interviews. But outside of that don't really know what to expect as far as level of difficulty, or any specifics.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here’s what you need to know about preparing for a Wells Fargo Superday, particularly for their TMT group in San Francisco:

  1. Interview Structure:

    • Expect three 30-minute interviews, as mentioned in your email. These will likely include a mix of behavioral and technical questions.
  2. Behavioral Focus:

    • Wells Fargo places a significant emphasis on behavioral questions. Be prepared to answer questions like:
      • Why Wells Fargo?
      • Why Investment Banking?
      • Why the TMT group specifically?
      • Tell me about yourself.
    • They value community service and volunteering, so if you have relevant experiences, highlight them.
    • Practice answering common behavioral questions using frameworks like STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to ensure your responses are structured and impactful.
  3. Technical Questions:

    • While technicals are important, they are not excessively difficult. Be ready for:
      • Accounting basics.
      • Walking through a DCF.
      • Discussing what you can learn from a 10-K.
      • M&A-related questions.
    • Ensure you know your resume inside and out, as they may ask conceptual or situational questions based on your listed experiences.
  4. Preparation Tips:

    • Rehearse answers to the most common behavioral questions and think of anecdotes for scenarios like teamwork, leadership, failure, and success.
    • Review the M&I 400 Questions Guide for technical preparation.
    • Be able to explain every bullet point on your resume and anticipate follow-up questions.
    • Stay updated on market trends, especially in the TMT sector, as they may ask about industry trends or deals.
  5. General Advice:

    • Wells Fargo values candidates who are personable and confident. How you present yourself (tone, clarity, and confidence) can matter as much as what you say.
    • Avoid memorizing answers word-for-word; focus on understanding concepts and being conversational.
    • Prepare thoughtful questions to ask at the end of the interview. Avoid generic ones and aim for insightful queries about the group or firm.

Good luck! Crush it and make that TMT SF spot yours!
