Wells Reputation

Can I get any insight on how the street views Wells IBD? I know people some people shit on them but how's pay, exits, and prestige? I know they're making the switch to hudson yards and have even seen them grouped in as a BB. Thanks

Spent quite a bit of time getting to know the guys and now I regularly have weekly chats with and associates there. It’s a great bank and a growing name. It’s growing almost as fast as RBC. The that most people have is charlotte. The nyc office is big but the bank still runs out of Charlotte. As for pat it’s in line with street and living in Charlotte that can go a long way. Also I have met plenty of people there that exited well. All MM I think, tho I know one guy that turned down a MF to do VC. Weird

Wells IBD was in the top spots for many of the categories in the lastest WSO report. Despite the latest bad press, it seems like it is moving in the right direction.

Wells is the big show in Charlotte. Keep that in mind - some people love the lower cost of living and southern lifestyle, but the downside is decreased exit ops. Some people feel Charlotte is too small as well.

Highly revered by many of the people I know who live in the south, definitely a bigger name than BAML down in Charlotte (even tho BoA is headquartered there). Most of the IB is run out of Charlotte, much less up here
