What do you want to achieve over the course of your Internship?

I'd like to ask past and incoming summer interns what your goals are throughout your internship? What do you want to achieve? How will you quantify/measure these goals? Short-term goals for the internship aswell as long term career goals? I'm just beginning my journey and it would be great to hear from some fellow monkeys further up the tree.
