WHAT IN THE BUTT?

Friends,

I will preface this with a ‘if you have nothing useful to say don’t say it” statement. I just read the ‘First Thing I Bought With My Sign on thread.’ I’m seriously y impressed with the amount of useful information that some of the best WSO users threw out there. (Although there was definitely a sizable amount of Fuck D-Bags who added nothing other than making cocks of themselves).

Well it’s my turn and would like to hear some advice from some WSO’ers who have proven themselves professionally.

I am from a well off family that made money years ago in the oil industry. I graduated from college in 2010 and have since been looking for a job (mostly in IB). I have been coasting along until this point, but as a 22 year old I am getting very tired of giving my post college life story (which consists of me bull shitting). I have a solid GPA from an outstanding school. I know that many of you will either tell me to fuck myself or use more contacts but to be honest I have done both way too many times.

Anyways I was wondering if anybody here had some suggestions as to what I should do to try to break into I-Banking. I appreciate any piece of advice this is something I have never done before. As i finish this post I can foresee a large amounts of posts from people calling me a R-tard who has never made anything of himself given his resources.

Fuck that I hope this sparks discussion…

you're still young! just enjoy ur life or go back to school. go to grad school in europe and have fun. my sister did nothing for almost 3 years except for booze and guys and finally landed a job in banking at the age of 25. she also graduated from ivy with a solid (?) gpa and interned at bb in her junior yr. though she's not working at the same bb where she interned at.

I wonder what you are expecting? A miracle advice that will open all previously unseen paths? If you networked a lot and applied everywhere you should be able to get some interviews, especially since you are in a good school.

If you failed so far or didn't land enough interviews, then my only advice is to pursue other areas in finance where you'd work for few years and than try to transfer.

And btw don't blame ppl for calling you names if you yourself admit that your post deserves that.

Do what you want not what you can!

All, I will preface this with a ‘if you have nothing useful to say don’t say it” statement. I am from an ivy with a 4.0 and IBD internships. I applied everywhere and networked my ass off but how can I get an interview?

boutiquebank4lifeYou guys are falling for some horrible flame.

Yeah, the guy posts and then a hour and 45 minutes later he has settled on a PE firm.
