What is the chillest/easiest group in NYC?

I want to lateral from my bank (BB), which used to have great culture, but took a nosedive this past year.

I don't care about huge bonuses.  Only great culture, easiest hours, and generally best quality of life.  If that means going to one of these groups in Citi or CS that got shafted on bonuses....great...I will backfill the exodus of bankers leaving.

Outside of ECM/DCM, is there a genuinely easy coverage/M&A/lev fin group at a reputable bank in NYC?   No work hard play hard, I want work easy play hard.

Barclays natty resources?  I heard they were generally easier (maybe I'm wrong)

No weird boutiques please.

I don’t really think there are many groups that are going to be significantly chiller than others. Marginally chiller yes, but even bad groups with low deal flow are going to be pitching crazy and then not only are you still doing work but the work you’re doing is less impactful (and probably useless).

best you’ll get is ECM or DCM in sleepy sectors (e.g. industrials and energy ECM is low deal flow at my bank great hours) but then your job security is lower.

You mention being willing to sacrifice on bonus, but understand that base alone is $100k+ for An1, well above what MO/BO is making all-in. As a result of the higher salary, longer hours are required or extremely technical aptitude (quant/tech). If you want WLB, MO/BO is the way to go.

Isn't sponsors crappy because your clients are PE firms that ride your ass all day and night and weekend?

what do sponsors teams even do?  Don't you build their models for them and do the buyside diligence (that's a ton of work!).

I heard CS sponsors was a total sweatshop?!   Is one of the BB sponsors groups more chill than the others?
