What kind of music do you listen to?

I’m an incoming intern and this would be my first corporate gig. I really enjoy listening to music but was wondering what my seniors might listen to.

I’m open to all types of music (if it’s good, it’s good). I mostly listen to a lot of rap/hip-hop.

Though recently, my gf has been getting me into classic rock and I really like it. Mostly Beatles, Billy Joel, Elton John, Grateful Dead, David Bowie.

I also like some psychedelic stuff like Tame Impala, Pink Floyd, Mac DeMarco.

My favorite rap artists include: Kanye, Jay Z, Nas, Uzi, Playboi Carti, Travis, Lil baby, Thug, Kendrick, Jcole, Drake, Don Toliver, Wayne, Common, Chief Keef Etc. I really like East coast artists like Sleepy Hallow, Sheff G, Jay Critch, Tjay. My Brooklyn friends always put me on to some less known artists like Amaru Cloud, Choppy Chan, Quando Rondo (highly recommend checking them out).

I’m kind of all over the place, but I’d be really interested in knowing what analysts, associates, VPs, etc. like. Also, are you allowed to listen to music at work or only at certain times? Does your MD even listen to music lol? Would really like to know, thanks in advance!

A few of my friends and I have been doing album reviews since April. I've only done about 70, but the other three have done about 300 each. Been a fun project so far. Here are some of my more recent reviews.

I'm really into synthwave/vaporwave music. Basically techno music inspired by synthesized pop music from the 1980s. I also listen to Japanese pop music (really underrated) and Celtic folk music.

My strong dislike of rap makes me feel like I must be anti-social because it is all the music that is played in bars and I have just never gotten into it.
