What matters more in interviews: What you say vs. How you say it
I read an interesting statistic that said that the interpretation of a message is only 7% verbal, versus 38% vocal and 55% visual. That brings non-verbal communication to a whopping 93% of all interactions.
Given entry-level FT roles with this statistic in mind, when going through interviews (behavioral, not technical) do you think its more valuable to focus on the substance of your answers, or the way you paint the picture with your tone, inflection, confidence, etc.?
If you could study 2 interviewers and had one focus on the substance of their answer, versus one that focuses on the delivery of their answers, which would you think receives more offers in the long run?
Cheers.
