What MDs think of interns/analysts

So I´ve been at 4 banks at this point

Back and forth from intern to analyst

(reasons I wont share here)

And I´ve had multiple MDs

All the way from the most obnoxious to the most humble

I´ve had MDs yell (and even make racist remarks) at me...

And had MDs that were benevolent and would let hard-codes in models slip

(embarrassing themselves in front of the client - not that I am proud of...)

So anyways

I´ve picked up what is a common theme in all of them

In how they treat people further down the ladder

So listen up, and see if you agree with my view

(or get annoyed and reply in disagreement...)

MDs will fake any "thank you" given to you

That´s right.

Your work can, quite literally, be done by AI itself

Everyone and their mum knows this

Want proof?

Check the jobs being already replaced at BBs

No, its not only the back or middle-office

Its also the front-office roles

Banks are profit machines after all

They will pursue leaner teams

Now, back to the main point

You are viewed as a complete cost-centre as a junior

Should you strive for better?

Or wait till you´re 40 (best case) to generate revenue?

Food for thought.
