What Now? Want to Break Into RX / SS

Currently in my first FT role, and long story short, I recruited for RX (both RX IB and RX consulting), and didn't get offers for either. Networked really well, upper semi-target, good grades / extracurriculars etc. Ended up getting a offer for a relatively well known growth equity firm. That's water under the bridge, but I still want to get into the RX / Special Sits space (PE / consulting / IB), bc that's what I'm actually interested in, but unsure of how to proceed, given my background and situation now. Am I screwed or what are my options? Preciate any help or words of advice.

No lie, both RXIB and RXCo. are pretty hard to get into, and I personally believe that growth equity is one of the harder areas to break into RX from, given that it's almost the polar opposite. Think the easiest way is to break into a lower tier shop in either consulting or IB depending on what your groove is, and working up. There's plenty of tier lists on WSO that are atleast directionally accurate, look them up. If you're at a pretty well known growth equity shop, RXCo. might be slightly more accepting of your background, but still hard. Be strong on technicals and behaviorals, and network as much as you can.
