What to do FT

I'm sure plenty of people have posted about this and talked about it, but really at this point not sure what to do. I've been a few processes with no luck and with the pandemic in place I feel like its just going to get tougher and more brutal. Never really felt too pressured because I always knew something would be out there, but at this point I feel like any chance of that is fading. A lot of self-reflection for sure, and its definitely been humbling, but I'm losing my mind over this recruitment process. Any advice at all would be great. I'm not sure what to do at this point. Feel like a joke for trying to even throw my name in the hat lol

I'm in your boat after no return due to COVID. It's rough. Lots of processes where you kill every question, have refs from your staffer, and shoot the shit with the interviewer but end up losing an offer to a first or second year analyst. And I completely understand that choice. Why would a bank take an intern with no return (regardless of reason) vs. someone with full-time experience?

At the same time, know your worth, and hesitate to accept the first thing that comes along. I declined a FT offer recently. A lot of my buddies said that was dumb. But nobody knows what the spring will look like.

Some things that help get me through these days: This could be an opportunity to re-recruit for that city/product group/industry you really wanted. Maybe great calls or interviews don't turn into a job, but that person ends up at a firm you want to be at in the future (there's your in). I also find myself speaking to some old buddies I haven't talked with in a while when tapping my network.

Control the controllables. Keep grinding and you'll land on your feet.
