I hit on one of my associate in my first month on the job and she told me that I needed to put in 5,000 hours on the desk and have a MF offer in hand if I wanted to go out on a date with her. About 14 months later I finally got the green light, took her out for sushi, and made her #REF! by the end of the night (if you know what I mean ;)). I earned the nickname “T-bone” from a few of my peers in the group because she had whiplash the following morning similar to as if she got in a car accident. We’re now engaged.
Best ‘why PE’ answer I’ve seen
Smh. Sounds like it was a VHookup (Yes, I know how to index-match-match).
not convincing enough. prove it.
The need for poon singlehandedly motivated this dude to get a MF offer lol
One time my fellow analysts and I worked a 60-hr week. It was a Godsend. Then our ED got back from his honeymoon.
Best time in IB was when I left IB
When I had my offer and temporarily got excited for a weekend or so...I’m in IBD now, ignore title.
1. The days after I received the offer to join FT following the internship
2. The taxi ride home after signing a multi-$bn transaction + waking up in a nice hotel room the day after. Feeling half-way important.
However, both events don't compensate for the crap you're require to swallow before, in-between and after them.
.
Bullpen nonsense and getting fucked up with fellow analysts at holiday parties, etc.
Ripping my pants twice. Once in court going through a divorce with my ex and the other time on a cab ride to a client's office.
Me and associate went for a site visit with a client's finance team. We get on the train back, and 20 seconds later, the client's CEO enters. Decided to sit with us and shoot the shit for the entire ride (not business-related). What a dude!
Getting to hop on a client's private aircraft, taking off on the top of a building in their family's name. Pretty good experience all in all.
That sounds awesome!
The last two weeks of the year when all meetings are canceled and you’re waiting for the bonus.
Oh yes, that's a wonderful time! Mine comes around Jan 15, so you ease into the start of the year and wait for that sweet, sweet e-mail . . .
I was able to go to Shanghai for a trip, went to a amazing rooftop bar and enjoyed the views, hands down favorite work experience so far.
Mainly IB I got to make some good friendships with my coworkers and explored NYC.
Bar Rouge?
Nah Kartel
pulled an all nighter on thursday then at noon on Friday staffer gave me rest of the day off. was sick.
After my first all nighter I got a call at 1pm the next day asking for a staffing update and my capacity
