My team actually covers the industry they operate in (albeit at a much larger scale), and they are very credible in the small cap space. You kids can make fun of them all you want but I guarantee you their founder makes more money than 97% of bulge bracket bankers in Canada. That’s not say I would want to start my career there, but when you’re senior “prestige” means very little and the things that look “prestigious” on the outside often don’t translate to compensation.
Heard from an inside source that their net success fees were like $4-5M. It is a lot for how small their team is.
