When will interviews stop for BBs SA 2026?

I’m a target (3.8 w/ previous IB experience) non-div male and I’ve gotten interviews at some EBs (I got destroyed despite all my technical prep) but haven’t gotten any looks from BBs. At some I haven’t even gotten a hirevue and I haven’t gotten any R1s either despite the networking I did (got referrals too). Most people at my school who’ve gotten offers from BBs are either nepo or div and so I’m wondering when these banks will stop sending out interviews for ppl of my profile? I’ve heard end of March or into early April. No one in my alumni network has been responding so I’ve been forced to branch outside of it to network. Do any of you guys have any insights on my situation? Any guidance would be appreciated.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, the BB SA recruiting timeline can vary, but interviews for Summer Analyst positions typically extend into late March or early April for non-diversity candidates. However, the bulk of interviews and offers are often completed earlier, especially for target school candidates. Since you mentioned not receiving Hirevues or R1s yet, it’s possible that some banks have already moved forward with their primary rounds of interviews, particularly for diversity and internal referrals.

Here are a few actionable tips for your situation: 1. Follow Up Strategically: If you’ve networked and received referrals, consider politely following up with your contacts to check on your application status. Timing is key—don’t overdo it, but a well-timed email can sometimes help. 2. Expand Networking: Since your alumni network hasn’t been responsive, continue branching out. Target junior bankers or analysts who might be more willing to engage and provide insights. 3. Focus on Remaining Opportunities: Some banks may still have open spots due to candidates declining offers or not meeting expectations. Keep an eye on postings and updates from your career center or LinkedIn. 4. Prepare for Late-Stage Opportunities: Smaller BB teams, middle-market firms, or boutiques may still be recruiting. These can be excellent stepping stones if BBs don’t work out this cycle.

Stay persistent, and don’t let the current lack of responses discourage you. Many candidates secure roles later in the process, especially as banks reassess their hiring needs. Good luck!

Intern in IB-M&A:

Get good. Non nepo non diversity kids get into banking every year especially from targets; just a matter of grinding out networking and converting all your interview chances.

Thanks for the advice. It is a bit demoralizing when Im not getting any traction considering everything I’m putting in; I’ll definitely keep grinding tho bc I’d rather do that than have regrets later on.
