Will LGBT diversity programs actually help me?

I’m a rising sophomore, so I’ll be recruiting for SA IBD positions next spring/summer. Since I qualify, I initially planned on applying through LGBT diversity programs offered by banks. But then I read somewhere on this forum that these programs don’t really help in recruiting and might even lower my chances because a lower percentage of the total students in a diversity program get an offer compared to non-diversity recruiting. Is this true or is it misinformation? Can anyone who applied through a diversity program inform me on whether or not the process will benefit me?

It's a bunch of BS that they don't help... of course they do! That's why they exist. If you qualify for one of these programs, you should not hesitate to apply.

are you seriously bragging for taking advantage of a program that's not designed for you but exists for the exact opposite reason? this is actually sickening.
