Working west coast hours and east coast hours
I’m not sure if this is just a West Coast banking issue or specific to my firm, but I’m essentially working both East Coast and West Coast hours. I have calls and emails ranging from 4–7 AM a few times a week, and I’m in the office past 10 PM most nights.
As a result, I’ve been getting only 3–5 hours of sleep, and I feel burnt out. From what I know, in New York, most people show up to the office around 9:30 AM, which seems like it would make it easier to get closer to 6-7 hours of sleep going to bed at midnight, waking up at 8 AM, and getting to the office by 9–9:30 AM.
Please let me know if this is the case
Busy tech groups with frequent cross staffing are fucked, Citi SF and Moelis SF notably.
Imagine cross staffing with new York is favorable. You probably don't have to work as late as the NY side.
