You guys are risk averse pu55i3s

I get flack everytime i say this stuff because the avg normie thinks the only people who make money on social media are “course sellers,” but ive started a social media brand after leaving banking and have consistently cleared 40k/mo and im 24, barely need to do anything other than interact with my clients when i choose

And yet yall wait til youre 30+ to make that kind of bread AND have shit wlb/health/no bitches?

Are you that scared to go off on your own and own 100% of the pie in something, literally anything?

You are hired at a profit. And thus underpaid and overworked. Lifes too short to be a slave. Even if you think im an idiot for using social media why not just acquire some small business and run that? If you’re gonna be stressed bear the burden yourself so you bear the reward. Or maybe we are just different because Id rather share a bath with a toaster than listen to some pencilneck in a patagonia ask me about fucking “synergies” one more damn time

No ragebait bro. I walked out of my apartment today and saw that the fat ugly associate who never left my old bank moved into my building. He was an asshole to me and tried to get me fired and shuttled me with 100h weeks. He was shocked to see me afford his building and could tell it irritated his ego. And instead of feeling happy i could flex on him I just felt sad and angry for him. This loser used to brag to the bullpen full of literal college kids about how much he makes as a fat 35yo with no bitches and now i just feel sorry for the thousands of people fueled by the same miserable existence of that guy.

I mean, okay. I guess we know what brought you here. But what it's sounding like is you came here to let off steam stemming from an experience you still haven't gotten over. Why not direct that energy differently?

If your aim is not the above and you want people to get off their backside then perhaps lead by example. No one's saying you have to dox yourself but you could discuss your journey. And no saying "I started a social media brand and make 40k/mo" isn't really that. That's not really any better than what course sellers do to market their courses (not that you're marketing courses but this is the same quality of content).

You don't owe anyone anything, but you clearly came here for a reason.

Half my mind is still betting that this is trolling/ragebait altogether, it's certainly written that way. It could definitely be a true scenario but the vocab you're using is pretty typical for trollers here.

Dude got bullied in IB and now he’s jerking off to a fantasy of seeing his old asso in his apartment building 😭😭 pretty sad dawg. Have to imagine if you got bullied that badly you aren’t as likable as you think you are. Can’t imagine clearing 40k/mo and still coming onto this site to act like an infant. Smells like bullshit to me hahahaha

Honesty is the highest form of love. The small mindedness pushed onto me by people like you destroyed my health, my relationships, all in exchange for what i now know was chump change for 10x the hours. And you would spare people of this (not encourage innocent freshmen to worship this pathetic career path) if yoy werent so risk averse!!! But instead of using the smarts you had to get into recruiting successfully, you use it to serve old miserable MDs who pay you a fraction of what they make off your labor, and then hang you out to dry when you keel over like Rich Handler did. You are all walking an evil path and must repent.

The only people i care about listening are rhe future generations. The college freshmen who havent yet sold their soul just to live paycheck to paycheck in nyc. Not you, not rhe daddys money silver spoon kid wbove - but the kid i used to be before listening to corporate drones i thought were “successful” but were in fact risk averse people who lack spirit

What’s wrong with being risk averse? I was lucky enough to be born with a silver spoon up my ass but i have plenty of friends who didn’t have that luck. I have plenty of friends who have loans to pay off or family members to take care of. They can’t stake their careers and livelihoods on the chance of something that most likely won’t work out. I was lucky enough to be born to a wealthy family, and you were lucky enough to have your social media business take off. Acting like you didn’t need luck to get there is just disingenuous and false.

You're completely right, if you're at uni/in your early 20s you should take risks like those.

Def not worth to do IB unless you're extremely passionate about this/want to do buy-side. Lots of ways to make easy money nowadays without giving away health/time/relationships. Kudos to u

incentives trumph ethics

Who on earth is legitimately passionate about this to the point theyd do this for free? Because the services I sell in social media pertain to a hobby of mine that ive literally done for free forever long beforehand. Even the biggest hardos in existence would not do this job for free. Therefore I posit that anybody that says they enjoy this garbage just lacks the clearly scarce ability (judging from all the ms on this page) to be honest with themselves

This is almost the last push I needed to finally step the fuck up and do something about my mid life. How did you start? Did you basically just straight away jump in with your own idea, or did you prepare, learn about how the business side of social media works, or have a mentor? And did you have plenty of time outside of work? I’m not sure if I should keep grinding on the weekends or find a more chill job to free up time

Friend of mine ran a business like mine before me and he taught me. But then when he had my success under gis belt as a “testamonial” he became a course seller grifter that I would no longer recommend. So yes find a “mentor” but make sure they are not super viral, just prove they are making money, and get them to teach you while they are still incentivized to get you good results. Because eventually when they are “viral mentors” or whatever with hundreds of chumps paying them monthly, they are not truly mentoring anyone. But if you genuinely get to know and befriend someone when they are small theyll actually help out. Disclaimer for the haters i do not sell “mentorship” - it shows your small mindedness that you genuinely think course selling is the only way to use INTERNET THAT YOY USE FOR 12h/day to make money lol

KoldKallKing

Refer to above. I work corporate as well. Ive had consistent 40k months along side it, and with shit like this stupid post for those who know who i am i just keep going more and more viral and having bigger and bigger minths. I also work in ultra lcol. I will be a liquid millionaire before i turn 25. How many of you PE lovers can say that

Btw your math shows 24k/mo above that’s so weak is kms if I had that comp

And ucol just means bucket shop location nyc or bust my guy

Respect for having the drive to start your ecomm shit and get to 40k/month but why are you chimping so much all over the thread and calling randoms low T? Highly estrogenic behaviour. Can you actually provide something useful in the thread? I'm friends with a lot of miami money kids like this who scale brands and shit online and make this internet money like you but give us a sliver of something - what do you actually provide? Are you copywriting? Are you scaling brands/soc media marketing? Also what's the plan here going forward? Are you gonna quit your corporate job? What have you done with the freedom so far? Also for your sake I hope you at least bench 225 lmao

op here unable to log back in. the second i give away a sliver of info someone who knows my brand would be able to tell who i am. Also your name is raj dawg 225 is high school weight for ppl with real athleticism

My name is not raj lmfao, google my username for the meaning. Nobody here knows your brand though nor have you said it. The space is saturated enough that you can give some very generic info at least to give insight. Ask GPT to rephrase it to make it more vague. You are adding nothing here thus far in terms of helpfulness. Then I suppose you can hit 225 at least?

I've thought about creating a newsletter or taking my content for career coaching (of which there's plenty) and creating a Udemy offering. I see a lot of value in creating a personal brand that can outlive any one employer and the fact that you found a way to monetize yours is impressive.

I've found it pretty difficult to get traction online given how saturated social media platforms can be. What have you seen work really well on your side? You also mentioned you give opinions to clients, but are those opinions on financial markets? More so investing best practices for their situations or something else entirely?

Glad to see things have worked out well for you - hope you take advantage by doing quarterly vacations or something.

Op here. There is no such thing as saturation on social media. The “niche” is your personality. Be different, and sell something you would personally buy or personally needed service wise. Use DM -> calendly funnel and close $2-5k 1on1 clients. Boom done.

Revisiting this thread. To round up:

OP got into IB (at William Blair it seems), realised he didn't want to do IB. His friend taught him the ropes to a business. OP was successful at that business.

So OP subsequently decides to come on here and say that any banker (which OP was) is a pussy and lost (which OP was) and various other expletives. OP implies through his responses that anyone who asks questions (which OP probably did to his friend who, y'know, taught him what he knows) is too dumb and lost to do anything except IB. Those who agree with him and are in IB are dumb and lost. Those who disagree are dumb and lost. The only people not dumb and lost are those who have not entered IB (which, again, OP did).

Fabulous logic.

I salute your financial success OP. But I think you are very much still dumb and lost.
