Advice on where to go from here

Hi everyone,

I’m gonna try and keep it brief since I don’t want to doxx myself but I've gotten really helpful advice from WSO in the past.

I’m a recent graduate of a t20 that previously interned at a MM firm and got a return offer. I liked the firm/group and didn’t overly hate my time in IB so it was obviously a great opportunity.

Unfortunately, this past year a family member has gotten sicker and the consensus is that they can’t live alone (need someone to take care of them/run errands etc.)

Due to this, I decided to go back to my hometown and grab a job there while also looking out for my family member.

I guess my question is what kind of jobs should I be looking for and could I use a summer internship as a way to lateral despite not starting off in IB.

Thank you!
