If it isn't cost-prohibitive, then do it. Just wanted to note that it seems like banks are starting to catch on to this, so you should have a good explanation as to why you need an extra semester/year to finish up undergrad, like switching between two majors that are completely different, transferring, etc.

After I did not get a return offer from my summer internship I decided to delay grad and just recruit for internships again.

Honestly, it was a great decision as most of my friends struggled to land a FT role or had to take significant downgrades, while I was able to secure a spot at an EB.  However it does come with challenges, a lot of firms asked why I was graduating in 4.5 years. A few firms just straight-up dinged me for it, even though I had a good answer so just be prepared for that.

I would even consider just putting you will graduate in May since that way people don't ask if the is that 3.5 or 4.5 years and just assume it is the normal 4.

How the timeline works since the recruiting for next summer internship is usually over when you finish your internship and got no return?

Screwed up in my application bc I forgot to change grad date.
These firms don’t allow me to update resume / withdraw application. But I do have two majors and a minor - should I reach out to HR abt this or do u think it’s chill?

Great, was able to pivot from PWM to S&T. Nobody so far cared that I'm graduating a semester late. However I was biomedical engineering for 2 yrs then switched to finance which I noted in a few interviews.

Hate to say it but the people from my school that did a 5th year have been doing much better.  Don't try it unless you are at a public or have a meaningful scholarship. You have an entire year to prep for on-cycle and network around. Walk onto a sports team, get a second major, or do a certificate program to make it sound legit if you get pressed.
