GPA Dilemma

I've got a final round consulting interview coming up, and I just found out that there is a min gpa requirement that I don't meet. My major gpa is on my resume, so it's likely the person I'm interviewing with doesn't know. What are the odds that I will have to identify my real gpa, and if they realize that I don't meet the min, will I get dinged? The job posting says that a transcript will be requested during the interview, but the person I'm speaking with didn't mention anything about it, so what are the chances they will ask for it?

Stressing big time here... Thanks in advance for your help!

I am actually in the same situation and have a superday coming up. I already interviewed with a director, vp, and a Managing director and none of them mentioned my GPA (which was left off the resume). I was told by an alum i was going to be granted a superday but HR has not seen my resume and i am afraid i'm going to get dinged (yikes) good luck.

KICKIN ASS AND TAKING NAMES

This is my experience/what I've heard as well.. Of course there might be some douche up in HR who will put his/her foot down, but I think that once you've gotten yourself an interview I'd be more concerned about coming across as a nice guy they would like to have on their team, rather than being a decimal short on your GPA.

Here's what a friend of mine did though, who was in the same situation as OP two years ago:

He didn't mention this before or during the interview, but instead focused on being a nice guy, presenting himself as very motivated and as someone who'd they would want to work with. Then a couple of days after the interview he called them back, said thank you for the interview, and then mentioned he had looked through the requirements once more and noticed the GPA error. Luckily for him, the guys who had interviewed him liked him so much, they simply said thanks for being so honest, told him not to worry about it, and the next day he got the offer.

chankySearch the past threads. it appears GPA matters in the background checks and your offer may still be revoked.

I don't understand why my offer could be revoked because I'm not being dishonest about the gpa situation, and I was offered an interview before I was able to fill out an application (where I saw the requirement). Additionally, HR sent me an email to apply and identify, and they didn't ask for my gpa at all.

Pat Batemen IVI know someone who had a job at JP Morgan and had his offer revoked recently because his major gpa was posted on his resume instead of his actual gpa
Unless he passed his major GPA off as his cumulative GPA, I really can't see this happening. As long as you clearly label it as "Major GPA" if it happens to be your Major GPA, there shouldn't be any foul-ups. Don't simply put "GPA" if you're putting down your Major GPA. That's just asking for trouble...
