Haven’t got a decision in 10 days after BCG final round interviews

I’m an advanced degree (PhD) candidate who interviewed for BCG on 9/16 (Friday). I was told I’d hear back promptly early next week, but I didn’t. I waited till the following Friday (9/23) to reach out to HR. They said they’re still making a decision and will get back ASAP. It’s the following Monday now, and it’s been 10 days since the interview, and I haven’t heard back. Does this mean I’m on a waitlist? What are the odds of getting an offer?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, it's not uncommon for the decision-making process to take a bit longer than initially expected. There could be a variety of reasons for this, such as the need to coordinate with various team members or offices, or perhaps they are still conducting interviews with other candidates.

In my experience, if you were rejected, you would most likely hear back sooner. So, the fact that you haven't heard anything yet could potentially be a good sign. It's also possible that you're on a waitlist, but it's hard to say for sure without more information.

In the meantime, try not to stress too much (easier said than done, I know). Keep yourself busy with other applications and networking opportunities. Remember, the ball is in their court now. You've done all you can do, and now it's up to them to make the next move.

Hang in there, and best of luck!
