I went to UConn undergrad and had the luck that Trillium was hiring for the first time ever on campus andddddd I got the job. wee. When I started my first day on the trading floor was 'what ivy did you go to' when i was assigned to a desk that had princeton yale cornell brown and penn state on it :]

CFA can def be good.. i think the best thing you can do is hustle your ass off and get as many co ops and internships and the like as early as you can in your career and make those connections -- attend industry events and networking things to mingle a bit but dont come off as the PLZJOBNOWTHX :( kind of kid.. walk around and learnlearn as much as you can

btw id also like to point out the difference between a nontarget and a NON target.. as in if you have a semi legit career department and alumni on the street. MSF can be very useful if you dont mind the extra year and tuition, if youre at a state school this can be a very good way to sneak attack in.

CFA is more useful for certain industries than others, check the WSO FAQs, they should help you out a bit. (FAQ link is on the same toolbar as the Forums link)
