Can I make it or should I be realistic
I'm studying math undergrad in a non target from Italy. I tried to apply to Bocconi, but was rejected and on plus it would have been too expensive. I fucked up on my last exams in high school, because I was fed up with the idea that the overall mark does not matter for university, which is true, but only in Italy. So if I wanted to go to UK or somewhere else, they wouldnt even consider me.
I realized I want to work in finance, but I don't have finance undergraduate programs near me and the target ones are expensive.
I never wanted to do academia, I just wanted to use math skills as a means to do something more practical, but I'm afraid that the world isn't built like that.
On plus the course is very hard, I'm worried that I won't have a very high GPA and this is burning me out.
I'm worried that since I would have to do more internships, it might be more competitive because I'm not studying a finance related subject and on plus I'm not at a target at all. I heard about some companies such as SEO London and Goldman (Moelis too maybe) give more opportunities and are less selective.
Should I also attend some summer school, or would it be useless and wasted money?
Should I restart over and take loans, or accept that I won't make it and change major to do something more employable such as engineering?
Do you think a lion asks for it's dinner?
Of course not, he kills it!
Go and kill it young man. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
