Kung Fu Hustle
Excellent choice! Shawshank on my end
No Country For Old Men
I think it’s the most overrated. The movie makes literally no sense on purpose
What about it doesn't make sense? Is it the unconventional ending to the protagonist? Because yeah, that was on purpose and was taken straight from the Cormac McCarthy book it's based on
Not in order: Goodfellas, Godfather 1 & 2, No Country for Old Men, There Will Be Blood, Casino, Raging Bull
Heat (or maybe Snatch)
Fracture
Deleted
Watched Lady Bird recently…. Fantastic movie
Double Indemnity, Maltese Falcon
Unironically American Psycho but very cringe to admit in real life
Big Lebowski, Dazed and Confused, There Will Be Blood and No Country for Old Men
Debbie Does Dallas
Gladiator
Not my favorite but arguably a cinematic masterpiece. Commodus to me was by far the best performance (Joaquin is insanely talented).
Uncut Gems
I remember finding it boring
I think it shows Adam Sandler has range
Borat
Cars and Star Wars 4
Taylor Sheridan's "New American West' trilogy - Sicario, Hell or High Water, Wind River - have become some of my favorites. Their gritty realism is hard to find nowadays. I grew up on the Harry Potter series and they will always have a place in my heart. Also a huge fan of Ronin and The French Connection.
Wind River has one of the most infuriating scenes in cinematic history
Agreed, love the new westerns.
The Audition
Django- got asked this question during my interview.
Django- got asked this question during my interview.
Corbucci? Do you like any other spaghetti westerns?
la la land.
Big Lebowski
I can always rewatch the following movies:
Shawshank Redemption
Tommy Boy
Goodfellas
Godfather
Good Will Hunting
The Dark Knight
The Departed
American Pie
Any Avengers Movie
Mrs. Doubtfire
Wall Street 1987, The Big Short, The Social Network, The Pursuit of Happyness, Rudy, The Founder. All bangers
Not necessarily in order:
1. Inception
2. Wind River
3. Ex Machina
4. The Departed
5. Beautiful Boy
6. Inglorious Bastards
7. OUATIH
8. Arrival
9. Good Will Hunting
10. Good Fellas
Honorable mentions:
1. The Town
2. Drive
3. Prisoners
4. Blade runner 2049
5. Se7en
6. Incendies
Interesting note, after reading the screenplay for prisoners several years before it was made (the ending to original screenplay is even more awesome than the movie), I spent a summer writing my own screenplay since I was so inspired and it placed top 10% in the Nichols fellowship. Top 5% actually get an agent, so I was so close lol.
But so many people have never seen or heard of prisoners.
To me, it’s of the best dark thrillers out there.
If you like prisoners you’ll like Incendies, one of Denis Villeneuve’s lesser known films.
What's the ending of the original screenplay? I love Prisoners, definitely in my top 10 movies
Forrest Gump
Troy
Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour
The Room.
Cinematic brilliance. Tommy Wiseau is a genius director and underrated as an actor. Surprise it hasn't won an Oscar.
In all seriousness, Goodfellas. Gladiator was mentioned above. My #2 and #3 are interchangeable and Gladiator is one of them.
Goodfellas, Pursuit of Happiness, Star Wars Episode VI
Honourable mention to The Irishman which I thought was brilliant
Amadeus - must have watched that movie at least a dozen times.
Midnight in Paris is a great watch
Gran Torino
The Paper Chase
Superbad
Blade Runner 2049
Clockwork Orange, Lord of the Rings and even Sin City is an incredible under appreciated movie if you are a fan of the artistic style
City of God
Interstellar
I love movies more than anything else. My greatest-of-all-time list (updated):
Drama
Gone with the Wind

It's a Wonderful Life
Hara Kiri
Apocalypse Now
Once Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
