Found a Loophole in Google's Algorithm

I find this very bizarre since I don't know that much about computers in general and even less about SEO, but I've accidentally stumbled upon a very simple loophole in google's algorithm that can very easily help sites get to the first 2 pages for a variety of commonly searched keywords. Is this by itself worth anything or would I need to start a SEO company to benefit from this? I also need to be able to sell the idea without it being stolen from me, because I can literally describe how to do it in three sentences, so after I say those three sentences no one really has any reason to pay me anything.

Is there anyway I can patent 3 sentences of SEO knowledge?

This is very hard to believe. I interned in SEO for awhile and there are hundreds of SEO gurus who work on this stuff all day.. if they don't know the loopholes, then no one does. The chances that you stumbled on something none of them have found is kind of like you winning the lottery. Make sure this is legit.. and not just something that appears to be a loophole.

You can't patent SEO knowledge. You can start your own SEO business, or you could consider selling your idea to an SEO business.

Honestly, I think most would be skeptical. The Google formula is pretty legitimate, and it changes all the time. Google is constantly making updates, and even keeps in contact with top SEO firms over the nature of these updates.

If you found a legitimate loophole, your best bet is to start your own SEO business, or find a partner who would be willing to do so with your formula.

blastoiseis it the one where you keep taking down the website and reuploading it and triges the 5th bracket of the code?

I don't know the first thing about coding, my trick is more of a play on words.

Sean518Land a site on the first or second page of "insurance Quote" and i'll believe it.

I should have been more specific, it needs to be a site with a relatively active forum and the the most frequently searched phrase I've been able to get to the first page of had 10,000 searches per month, well short of the 1.8 million for "insurance quote" but that's with me knowing literally nothing about SEO and inadvertently trying to get to the first page. However, I think if I were to combine my glitch with someone that actually knows something about SEO I'd be able to get well above that 10,000 threshold. A site like WSO would be the ideal type of customer my strategy would target.

have you tried and tested your idea? Like others said, Google is constantly changing SEO and your idea may not be viable in a year or few months. I would actually contact someone in Google and leverage for a job. No VC will sign a NDA for this.

I call shenanigans. I worked for one of the largest sports betting websites and we had a team of 8 people who did nothing but figure out ways to game the system. Our budget for link buys was massive.

What you're describing is 99.99999999% not a loophole, but simply you optimizing anchor text for certain combinations of keywords. What you're saying about needing an active site with a forum just plays on the strengths of that site already.

Now if you could get a brand new site ranking for a competitive keyword, THEN you would have something. Otherwise, you got shit and you aren't selling that.

The problem with contacting google for a job is that even though I discovered this and yes the strategy is re-testable, I know very little about computers and literally nothing about SEO other than my recent discovery, but without altering my current strategy at all, over the course of an 8 hour work day I'd be able to put 8 different pages on the front page of google for search phrases that have at least 5,000 hits per month, so over the course of one month, I'd be able to generate content that is on the front page of google for about 1.2 million searches per month, which has to be worth something to someone. As I see it now I have the following options:

A) Try and negotiate a deal with google for a lump sum payment, because I don't know enough about computers to get a job.

B) Start my own SEO company, which I'd like to avoid doing because of my lack of computer knowledge.

C) Convince a large SEO to sign an NDA and sell my idea for a percentage of the revenue they earn, but I still wouldn't trust them even with an NDA because they can tell google all the information they need to know to fix this over the duration of an elevator ride.

I believe I read somewhere the Google penalizes companies that attempt to manipulate the system by removing them from search results, among other things. If this is indeed a loophole and not a true tactic for improving SEO results, you would need to sell your idea on the "black SEO market" rather than through legitimate means.

I don't even know if this is a loophole or a true tactic, all I know is that it works. Should I try to get some kind of tech lawyer and have him sign an NDA? This is one of those times in my life where I wish I had someone I could trust that knows about computers and SEO.

Yea I would discuss it with a lawyer. He might provide you with more options to milk your idea. I don't think anyone will sign a nda though. I mean like you said, the minute you explain it.....poof its gone. Its like finding an arbitrage opportunity but cant do shit cuz you don't have money. Good luck buddy and let us know how it goes.

Hooked on LEAPS, not to blow your bubble, but you are too stupid if you think that you can turn accidentally finding a marginal weakness in the algo into a business or even any type of profit. I was CS major, have done internships on search engines and related matters, these things get tested and improved all the time, there are parameters that get optimized continuously, and eventually they will arrive at a state when your idea would be shit. Now, if you actually turned your idea into a funny comic or article, that'd be cool, but thinking you can make money out of this kind of glimpse is beyond retarded.

Hooked, I just hired an SEO professional to help WSO rank for certain phrases. If you could do this, I'd be willing to pay you a success fee, assuming you are using legit means. In other words, if you could do it without using fake link farms, and not get shut down for say ~6 months, I'd be willing to pay you some $ to put in some work for WSO.

You don't have to tell me exactly what you're doing, you just have to guarantee it doesn't break any of Googles Terms of service, because then it could come back to penalize the site.

if interested, drop me a PM or email me

Tell me if I'm wrong: put in your forum signature the phrase you want to be searched, linking to the site you want boosted. Then ensure you have a couple hundred posts across the forum.
