Grad Outcomes
I'm a high school senior and I'm trying to decide between schools for finance/business. So far I'm between Holy Cross, Lehigh, Providence, Stonehill, and Bentley. I've been doing a lot of research and it seems like none of them are targets, but they all have good credibility in Boston/New England. Seems like Lehigh has the most connections to the street and has a good business school with finance which will likely lead to a higher GPA than doing econ at Holy Cross, although I would probably have to pay more at Lehigh. I'm really just looking for any advice on what would lead to the best chances for a career in banking and possibly IB or PE? I know its crazy to think about this early, but its been on my mind.
Your best chance is probably to transfer to a target and then get a good internship your final summer.
Assuming you can't transfer to an Ivy part way through, I'd say go with Lehigh. They have about 500 finance majors, making it the most popular program. Of that, about 20 kids each year graduate with a decent FO role. However, too many get suckered into Big 4 or similar positions. Though if you grind, take advantage of OCR, and keep your GPA high, you can definitely get a spot. It's not as bad as people on this site make it out to be. Ofc, I'm a little biased ;)
Thanks for the insight, very helpful 😉
Second Lehigh. Decent enough alumni that should be able to help you out if you grind.
Lehigh - Max out that GPA and network network network w/ FO alums.
Else - Max out that GPA and transfer.
Good luck!
Agree with everyone above but had to comment. Don't spend 18-22 in Worcester, MA.
Want to expand? I almost went to Holy Cross for football and thought at least the campus was cool... Have no idea about the town it's in though.
