I Hate My Life.

Just another monkey trying to vent.

I don't know why everything seems to go wrong, but it just does. I've got my family breathing down my neck about accusations they can't prove, my friends don't pick up their fucking mobile phones, the chicks of the world don't give me a second glance, I've got a number of mental health disorders that are beating me into submission, and I am just sick of every damn thing. I just want to be happy, that's it.

If anyone has any bad feelings about their lives too, I'm glad to listen and offer help if I can.

Don’t be afraid to cut off toxic family members or friends.. I hear lots of “oh you think you’re too good for us now” type BS, even though I refuse to talk about what I do or how much I make. FUCK THEM

Thank you for your advice. As much as I want to get rid of the pain, the relationships that I have with my family are very important to me, and I depend on them quite a bit for emotional help with the disorders that I face. Additionally, there have been unrelated instances between other family members, such as the case of my mother's relationship with her emotionally abusive elder brother, and I feel that cutting my parents and my brother off now would be something that I would regret later.

Thank you very much for your advice. I have had the same therapist and a number of psychiatrists for most of my life, but I am trying to find replacements for them that can better suit my needs. In the past thirteen years that I've worked with different therapists, I've found therapy to be beneficial for the exact reason you mentioned, so I would encourage others to think about the option as well.

You are way too focused on what other people think about you.  It is much more important for you to have a positive opinion of yourself.  Focus on the stuff that you like about yourself and try to deemphasize what others think of you.  If you do not exercise, start doing it.  If you do exercise, ramp it up because doing this releases endorphins which will help you feel better.

I know the advice of just focusing on whatever is cliché and overadvised but in your case, focus on career and/or friends. Family pressure is and can be extremely difficult to ignore. As long as they aren't treating you as indebted to them or something of the likes, do your best to cancel out what they're saying. As for your mental issues, go see a therapist. To be clear, going to a therapist is not a sign of weakness and is in fact quite the opposite. Treat your issues almost like a checklist to start with and make sure each item on the list has something you're doing to work towards alleviating it. Also think about your goals and work relentlessly towards them. Career goals seem like a good idea given the nature of this forum and who you are venting to so maybe all your energy going there will help. Good luck and I hope you're able to turn

Thank you all for your advice and kind support. I've been through one hell of a week, but I think I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I hope all of you are doing well in your own lives, and I hope that, if any of you are in need, I can help you as you've done for me.

Thank you very much for your support. As I mentioned briefly in the post, I suffer from a number of mental and emotional disorders that make me go in circles, and the week's been difficult with my family. While I love them with all my heart, their incessant bothering drives me off the wall sometimes, and due to the disorders, this problem is exaggerated further. Thankfully, I'm having a better day today, so I think I might be seeing the end of the tunnel.

I feel you here and hope you’re doing better. The pressure and stress from others sure doesn’t help when struggling with mental health. Personal question (and no need to answer) but do you or have you ever considered medication? I have no idea what you’re going through, but I’ve been on SSRIs for awhile now and find it really helpful since I use to feel like I was trapped every time I got extremely stressed, so this has helped stabilize my stress. Also, feel free to reach out anytime to vent!!

First off, I'd like to thank you for your comment. I have been in a far better state of feeling lately thanks to reconciliations with family and help from therapists. To answer your question regarding medication, I have been taking a number of medications for the past thirteen or so years, and they do help quite a bit for the stressful times. I'm glad to have a place and people to which/whom I can vent in these times; the comments that have flown in on this post have made me smile, making me realize that there is some good left in this crazy world. It's good to hear that people can understand the problems that we go through, truly a blessing in my mind. God bless you, friend, and thank you very much.

To recap on this post for whoever might see it, I wish to thank everyone who commented and helped me during this difficult stretch of the road. Despite the fact that the Off Topic forum can be a very... "interesting" (I'll stick with that)... place to hear the fun/odd ideas and goings-on of our fellow monkeys, all of your posts have been beneficial to my getting through the tunnel of misery. You are all great people in your own ways. God bless you all!

I wish I had that kind of action, Pizz, or any at all. Your advice in this field is legendary.

That sucks dude just keep trying your best. It won't necessarily do you any good, but hey, you tried.

Also, try to get a hold of a therapist.
