Lack of Motivation After Offer

Hey WSO,

First off, I want to thank all of you for the help your forums have given me. I owe part of my success to the insight from real people, rather than stuffy articles online.

I worked my ass off, transferring from a non-target to a semi-target, studying everyday, 1-2 networking calls a week, interning simultaniously throughout each and every semester. When I finally received an offer for a summer analyst position, I was so happy and could finally let out that sigh of relief.

I am a junior now, and still interning to help pay rent, build my resume, and learn more about finance. That all being said, I have started to neglect my grades. As time has gone by, I have started using Chegg for all of my Homework assignments, learning a months worth of material a few days before the midterms. It aslo does not help that classes are getting harder. My brain justifies this behavior by telling me that it doesn't matter anymore as long as I pass and graduate in 4 years for full-time IB

Maybe I'm posting this for approval to go ahead and slack-off, but I am just feeling overwhelmed mentally and don't know what to do about this.

Has anyone else gone through this before? Is anyone going through this now? I would really appreciate some advice, and confirmation that everything will turn out okay.

Thanks

GPA will still be relevant for PE + MBA applications. And full time recruiting, if you want or need to do that. Plus any other job op early in your career. Blowing your GPA will close a lot of doors.

If your GPA tanks you could be completely $&@“ed with no return offer. On this site people act like that doesn’t happen to anyone unless they’re brain dead or there’s a recession, but if your bank cuts, say, 20% of interns in a normal year thats actually a pretty big risk, given that the rest of your class had to be just as impressive as you in interviews.

Maybe keeping these in mind will help with your motivation?
