Did anyone else watch Theresa May's speech last night? Seems like she alienated anyone else who may have still been on her side...
Also, the EU have specifically said that a June extension is off the table, and that any extension is only on the table if the current proposed Withdrawal Agreement goes through Commons next week. May last night said she would not support an extension past June. So this would all point to May's entire political future resting on next week's vote...
All in all, it's a shitshow. Thoughts?
May is a nutcase. Cameron was smart to resign as soon as this shit show started.... what they need to do is have another referendum, hopefully cancelling Brexit and salvage what they can
The whole thing was a mess, it was basically a 50/50 vote (and tbh I reckon a lot of Remainers didn't vote because they assumed, incorrectly, that it was a no-brainer to remain). What result would work?
Forget the referendum and cancel it: Goes against the referendum and basically says the Conservatives don't care about what the public said.
Leave with no deal: You won't get a majority because you have half who want to remain and not all of those who want to leave want no deal.
Leave with a deal: You'll never get an incredible deal from the EU so the possible deals are mediocre at best. The remainers won't vote on that and not all of those who want to leave will want the deal.
It's a shitshow and nothing she suggests will get through Parliament. The only viable option I see is another referendum in which case I would imagine it resulting in a strong remain majority. We'll look like fools and an absolute waste of money and 3 years, but there you go..
I thought Cameron was a brilliant PM but he probably won the election because he offered a referendum which was a terrible idea. Although like I said earlier, I don't think many people actually thought a leave win would happen.

Brexit was a terrible idea and remains a terrible idea. The failure of everyone involved in implementing it has been even worse. There should be a second referendum.
Nothing complicated here. Pull out, as the vote demands, and sign a deal with NA and APAC. The liberals are over complicating it to muddy the waters and May is in on it.
At the end of the day, the liberals will likely win, democracy will be squelched (as it usually is when it opposes the globalist, socialist plot) and the Brits won't do anything about it.
Oh well. Life goes on.

Whyphy I agree it was definitely a poisoned chalice for anyone to come after Cameron, they were essentially guiding a ship off a cliff edge or into rocks.
Considering May's stubborn, resolute personality, I can't see her going for any option other than assuming her Withdrawal Agreement passes through the House next week.
I almost feel as if a lot of the MP's want someone to pull the trigger and revoke A50 but that no one is willing to do it themselves... leaving May to lose next week's vote, be forced out and for this whole debacle to either end in May or in December depending on how sympathetic the EU feel.
