Tips for a rising sophmore

I am currently a rising sophomore at a semi-target and not only have I not have had an internship yet, but I haven't even been called for interviews and am just wondering what I'm doing wrong. Sure I may not go to the best school, but I certainly don't go to the worst either. I have a 3.8 GPA, am the vice president of a finance club, won a case competition, completed wall street prep, and have a lot of volunteer work done. I've had professionals edit my resume and cover letters, and they've said they look good. I also have been applying to literally anything I can find in business so it's not like I'm strictly applying to lucrative positions. I honestly don't know what more I can do or if not landing freshman summer/sophomore fall internship is normal. Any help/tips are appreciated, thanks.

Internships your sophomore summer are hard to come by. I had to send out hundreds of applications and even looked at local PWM offices before I landed something. At this stage, anything finance related looks good so keep grinding and leverage your school & personal network to do anything.... To get ahead for junior year start networking with alumni and start keeping up with markets regularly.

It all works out, keep at it!!

Thanks for the help! I'll keep that in mind. I've sent a fair share of cold emails to local PWM's as well haha. It's just a little disheartening not even getting interviews, and makes anything in finance, much less high finance, seem so unreachable. You're right though, there's nothing I can do besides keeping up the hard work and continue applying to places. Thanks for the message it means a lot.
