Which WSO Monkey Ranks are Prestigious?

hello fellow chimps. it seems that people on this site are willing to ascribe prestige to anything and everything, which got me thinking: when do the monkey ranks on this site start to become prestigious?

how far up the totem pole must you go before your rank is "respectable"? where should one draw the line?

ib4 human - ain't nobody got time for that.

Senior Monkey is the first rank for which you have to double your points from the previous rank to achieve. You don't have to do that again until Neanderthal. Additionally, it takes 4 times the previous absolute point growth to achieve Neanderthal (you need 250 to go from Senior Gorilla to King Kong but then 1,000 to get from King Kong to Neanderthal). In other words, it's 4x harder to go from King Kong to Neanderthal than it is to go from Senior Gorilla to King Kong. That jump to 4x the previous point growth is the highest on the whole rank ladder.

Thus, I'd say we can safely say Neanderthal is probably the point where you've achieved some prestige. I say this as an absolute Kong.

P.S. The prestige isn't real unless you're also Certified User.

P.P.S. I know I just gave advice on good and bad uses for WSO and that this comment clearly falls into the latter. However, I don't care because life isn't worth living if you always follow the rules.

so you're saying that you can't be prestigious until you're a homo? interesting.

WSO practices radical transparency - you know exactly what it takes to collect points and move up the corporate ladder (see here: https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/rankings).

In my view, WSO ranks as the most clear, impartial website on the entire internet. It is the ONLY website that's entirely a meritocracy. Unlike other websites where people can game the system, there is no nepotism nor diversity here. Everyone has equal opportunity to succeed by simply creating an account. Further, networking and office politicking have no impact on your success here.

In order to have fair assessments, WSO implements a 360 review policy where the contribution of members can be rewarded with bananas or monkey shits. The continuous evaluation is great because it allows you to know where you rank against other monkeys in your analyst class in real-time. If you spend enough time here and are a top bucket monkey, you can graduate to Certified Status.

This place is great and I can really see myself becoming a career banker
