It's not an easy business, so I'm not surprised they charge that much, but it is a bit on the high side.
We have top notch PE professionals from top PE funds, so no idea why you'd pay them $899 when you could get 3hrs plus a resume review for $698 from us...just sayin.

@iamfromcanada - agree 100% - pretty confident our Mentors are the best since the ones in PE all have top notch experience and love to give back.
I'd ask what the person's credentials are.
Where did they go to UG? Where did they do their banking program? Where did they interview for PE? Where did they get offers from? and which one did they accept.
You want someone helping you prep that is: (a) credentialed (i.e., has successfully navigated the process) (b) understands your background and how you should be approaching recruiting
If I'm a kid from Florida State who got to BAML through SEO... and the guy helping me prep is a football player at Harvard-> GS -> KKR-type... while his advice is valuable... he hasn't intimately experienced the recruiting process as I'm going to see it. Similarly, the Harvard->GS guy has his own battles to fight, and someone who did FSU->BAML->Apollo isn't intimately experienced with the recruiting process in someone else's shoes.

Holy shit that's expense. What exactly does this prep session consist of?
I'd say before you pay anything you should (obviously) do you homework, most important of which is the background of the person prepping you.
Reason being... if you're a guy from Ohio State working at Wells Fargo and you want to go to a top tier MM PE shop.... and the guy prepping you is a Princeton-->GS-->KKR-type.... I'm sure he'll be able to impart some interview knowledge on you.... but the battle he fought in getting to KKR was very very different than the one you'll need to fight to get to New Mountain. What I've noticed is that the feedback and intel you get can be extremely different based on the background and trajectory of the person you're talking to. You can follow someone's advice to the T and it may very not work for you... because you're not him/her.
There are various roads to successfully navigating the recruiting process, but there is only ONE that will work for a candidate and figuring out which road to take for your specific candidacy is 90% of the battle.
First and foremost I'd find out what the person's background is and if its comparable with your own.
Second I'd find out what this guy's credentials are.
Third find out what intel you're going to get out of this for $900... which IMO is quite a bit of money. In fact, at that point I'm contemplating starting a PE prep service myself.
