Undergrad School

UCLA or Rutgers Business Honors Program

I got into UCLA for College of Letters and Science with Pre Business Economics and Rutgers Business School- New Brunswick with the SAS Honors program.

Background info: I'm a NJ Resident.
Tuition: OOS tuition at UCLA- 42k/year vs. IS Tuition at Rutgers with 31k scholarship and grants.
I also have enough money saved to pay off almost 2 years of tuition at UCLA, and plan on working on campus.

My whole goal was to place into ivies/wall street feeders for investment banking-> eventually to venture capital or private equity in NYC. I'm aware UCLA and Rutgers aren't targets for high-finance. Although VC doesn't sound too bad in LA and if anything the Bay Area is nearby.

What would be the better option? And any advice?

Definitely go for UCLA, although it might keep you limited to west coast recruiting. Rutgers is a non-target for recruitment and it would be quite the grind trying to break into the industry…

Students from UCLA have been placed into P72, CAP, DE Shaw, CVP, Qatalyst out of UG. Check their investment club and the placements they boast about on their website. This is a no brainer, the only shit part about UCLA is CA, but since you're from NJ, it shouldn't be a problem.
