IB to Credit Sales
Has anyone made the move from IB, i.e. a traditional product role in DCM / Leveraged Finance or similar, to Credit Sales and could share their experience?
Or if not based on personal experience, I'm still keen on hearing your opinion on such a transition and where you see the major obstacles and difficulties.
Many thanks!
DCM to Credit Sales is definitely possible.
A couple of people at my bank moved internally from FX Sales to DCM Origination with the A2A promotion, and I've seen another colleague go from DCM to Credit Sales at a different bank again at the end of the analyst stint. For context this is at a BB in London.
Why are you interested in such move?
Hi, thank you, I'm in LevFin Capital Markets (not Origination) at a BB. Credit Sales appeals to me because of the better hours and because of the volatility in my current group...last year and most of this year was really tough in terms of deal flow and the division was downsized.
Anyone who could share their experience...?
